Hey Edmonton, thanks for great working relationships over the years. I'm enrolled in a graduate programme right now over at UBC Okanagan and it pretty much demands almost all of my focus. So, I'm only doing quick web development every now and then to assist friends. I continue to maintain these existing major projects: VUE Weekly, Parkland Institute, and the publishing collective I'm a part of, thoughtcrime ink.
If you want to contact me about anything (especially if I've made a site with you before and something isn't working), just shoot me an email.
Referrals and recommendations
Since I'm out of the full-time dev biz, I'm frequently asked for referrals and recommendations. I recommend EngineHosting.com for web hosting, and hover.com for domain registration.
For a site content manager, I recommend ExpressionEngine, hands down. For very simple projects that will stay simple, I direct people towards Wordpress. Also check out Motomotor, another very simple content manager which can be upgraded to an ExpressionEngine site if it gets more complex.
I'm nothing but impressed with the design and coding chops of Canadian developers Amphibian and LeaLea design. Their respective portfolios and contact info are found on their sites.
For maintaining sites I use and recommend nothing but Panic Software's Coda (in combination with the Adobe Creative Suite of course.) If you are a PC, EditPlus is also decent to work with.
